Besides J.J. Abrams acknowledging the 4 Rules video, the other take away from the Telegraph article is the following tidbit:
There has also been speculation that British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor may be taking a role after being seen waiting in the lobby of Abram’s office.
That’s pretty shaky evidence for anything. However, Jedi News adds the following:
We understand that British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, who was a very early consideration for a role in the film and who also met with J.J. Abrams this week, will be joining the cast of Episode VII in an as yet undisclosed role.
Apparently London’s Times will have more information tomorrow, although the Jedi News link returns to the article referenced by the Telegraph.
Jedi News are fairly reliable, however. I’d trust what they’re saying.

The British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, front-runner in this year’s Oscar race, is sitting in the lobby of J. J. Abrams’ office. If you’re a sci-fi fan, this might be very big news indeed.
[Abrams] looks at me, dead-eyed. “I can’t discuss casting,” he says. “But he’s a very talented gentleman.”
