Two more women have been added to the cast of Episode VII today: Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Game of Thrones‘ Gwendoline Christie.
Nyong’o is quite accomplished, earning a master’s degree from the Yale School of Drama and winning the Herschel Williams prize for outstanding acting ability. She has long been rumoured to be joining the cast of Episode VII. Here’s a clip from her Oscar winning performance in 12 Years a Slave:
Christie, on the other hand, was a completely unexpected choice. Besides her role on Game of Thrones, she will also be appearing in the final two Hunger Games films, the first due for release later this year.

Both actresses should add quite a bit of depth to the already-amazing cast.
