Episode VII teaser trailer approaching?

I really did not expect this, and indeed I’m still sceptical.

Nonetheless, today’s rumour is that John Williams will be scoring a teaser trailer on 15th November, presumably for a December release (Edit: attached to Disney’s Into the Woods):

A reliable source just said JW received a trailer from JJ Abrams on Monday, Oct 20. JW has already written new Star Wars music to accompany this trailer. This new trailer music will feature new music and will be recorded on November 15 in LA with full orchestra. Still determining if the score will be recorded in London due to advanced age of composer/conductor. 14 hour flight to LA not too kind on 82 year old. This is all a secret and this message will be deleted shortly.

The following is just an UNCONFIRMED RUMOR, so take it with a grain of salt…

Disney’s BIG movie this Christmas is INTO THE WOODS, it opens Xmas day…

I’m told there is a very strong chance they will have a trailer on it for their 2015 BIG XMAS movie that will have an original score recorded for it that will be recorded in LA in the very near future..

I wonder what that could be and who would be scoring it….

Remember, this is just a UNCONFIRMED RUMOR!!!!!

Keep in mind that the first trailers for the last five Marvel films (including Avengers: Age of Ultron) all debuted roughly six months before their film’s release; the same goes for J.J. Abrams’ own Star Trek Into Darkness. The trend is away from protracted, hype-building teaser campaigns that last 12 months or more.

That said, maybe the first live-action Star Wars film in 10 years is a special case. Maybe they need 12 months to set-up this larger 6+ film project, to let audiences know that Star Wars is coming back in a big, big way. Or maybe this is all bunk.

Even if this is true, expect nothing but a shot of the Millennium Falcon (or something similar) and not a lot more.
