Are you ready to pace yourselves?
The Force Awakens teaser will apparently appear alongside The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which opens in the U.S. on December 17. Admittedly, the evidence is shaky—a lot of secondhand reports giving confirmation, but it all aligns with more credible rumours. Firstly, there’s a (now deleted) tweet from filmmaker Reece Steel:
(Gormley was the first assistant director on The Force Awakens and is a good friend of J.J. Abrams.)
Then there’s a post from Star Wars Episode 7 News that claims a local theatre manager confirmed that the teaser would be shown with The Hobbit.
Earlier reports suggested it would likely air during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on December 16. I’ll go out on a limb and say both will occur, with the teaser hitting the web a couple of days prior. And around 10 days before that, publicity stills will be released. It’s only a hunch, however. We’ll see.
So here’s a possible timeline:
- around December 4: Publicity stills
- around December 14: Teaser hits online
- December 16: Teaser airs during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and screens with Hobbit preview screenings
- December 17: Teaser hits cinemas across the U.S.
We may only have two weeks to go until we see our first glimpses from The Force Awakens. Hang tight…
