Nine days to go: Video, video and more video

Here’s a whole heap of Force Awakens tidbits to get you excited in this final stretch before the movie hits…

First, here’s the TV spot featuring Nien Nunb in HD:

And here’s a behind-the-scenes reel from Comic Con Brazil:

You want more? OK, here’s a brief featurette on Rey:

And here’s 22 minutes from the Force Awakens press junket:

And yet there’s still more! Here’s what we learnt from today’s Force Awakens press conference:

  • Lawrence Kasdan on Kylo Ren: “He doesn’t have his shit all together… You’re getting all the contradictions and conflicts that people feel. That’s what’s unique about what Adam has done.” Kasdan said there hasn’t been a character like Ren in the saga before. Adam Driver later adds, “He’s more dangerous and unpredictable, and morally justified in doing what he thinks is right.”
  • J.J. Abrams on Maz Kanata: “I do believe that Maz and Yoda, at some point, crossed paths. But… that is not something that happens in this film.”
  • There are no Ewoks in The Force Awakens, nor Jar Jar Binks
  • There is no scene after the end credits
  • The cast will return to England next month to start work on Episode VIII
  • John Boyega on The Force Awakens: “This is a movie about human beings, about Wookiees, spaceships and TIE Fighters. It’s got an undercurrent of courage, a message of friendship and loyalty. I watched the movie with Kathy [Kennedy] last week, and I really relate to Rey more than any of the [other] characters. The circumstance to find something bigger than yourself is really important to me.”

Finally, Andy Serkis has described Snoke to People magazine as “7-foot-something tall; he’s very, very thin.”

There are nine days now until the film opens in France; Australia will get it a few hours later. Not long now…
