About

star_wars_ver4A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….

In 1977, the world experienced Star Wars for the very first time. George Lucas’ iconic space opera followed the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo as they faced off against Darth Vader and the evil Galactic Empire. Two more films initially followed, as well as tie-in novels, comics, cartoons and made-for-TV movies (and an abysmal “holiday special” to boot).

Now, over 30 years after Return of the Jedi hit theatres, audiences are picking up where that film left off. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, once again features Luke, Leia and Han, as well as X-wings, TIE fighters and stormtroopers; what’s more, Star Wars: Rebels, an animated TV series set roughly five years prior to the original Star Wars and “taking direct inspiration from the original trilogy”, is now in its second season. This is the Star Wars that first generation fans know and love, and it’s coming back in a big way.

So if you remember seeing a Star Wars movie in a theatre between 1977 and 1983, if you grew up playing with Kenner action figures, if you remember your disbelief upon hearing “I am your father”… this blog’s for you.

The future of Star Wars looks bright indeed, with people like Dave Filoni and Lawrence Kasdan continuing to steward the saga as we return to the look, feel and characters of the classic films. Like the Force itself, it seems that Star Wars really will be with us… always.
